MINT DENTAL CARE

NHS

We believe that everyone should be looked after.

NHS treatment is the default treatment offered to all new patients unless they specify for higher quality private work. We have dedicated NHS laboratories. NHS treatment does have its limitations set by the government, for example, no white fillings and white crowns on posterior teeth.
NHS treatment is free for:
Everyone aged under 18
Those aged under 19 in full-time education
Pregnant mother, nursing mothers, until the baby is 12 months old
On tax credit, pension credit, income support
Those with certificated exemption from payment because of income
We reserve the right to see paperwork of exemption proof.
We reserve the right to charge for appointments canceled under 24 hours regardless of exemption.
All emergencies treated as soon as possible; extreme infection and pain referred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
We have extensive experience working with both adults and children. We understand that these two groups have different needs, and we address them all, providing quality regular dental visits and patient and parent education.
Fissure Sealant

SERVICES FOR CHILDREN INCLUDE:

The examination provided twice a year.
Fluoride for children between 2-6 years of age, we follow the Childsmile initiative.
Education on proper oral hygiene with dietary advice about sweets, chocolates, fizzy drinks and boxed juices.
Sealants – This is an excellent method to help reduce the chances of a child getting decay. These are sealants on teeth fissures that have or are showing strong signs of decay- an excellent preventive measure.
Extractions – these are carried out if the tooth has an abscess or can’t otherwise be adequately restored, or retained if needed to be removed by orthodontic reasons.
